Unum Group, Worcester City Square Sullivan Group Fit-Out
DCBA completed this fit-out on the seventh floor of an occupied building in 10 weeks. Construction work included the installation of new fire rated full height tenant partitions, ceilings, and partial height walls to define tenant offices and spaces. Partitions within the defined tenant space only reached to the underside of the ceiling, providing the client with greater flexibility in altering the layout in the future. MEP services were extended from the original core and shell services as required to accommodate the new layout. A new tel/data closet and system was installed and coordinated with the tenant’s tel/data supplier on a design build basis. All MEP scope was coordinated with building facilities and the original building engineer to ensure consistency among systems throughout the building. Architectural finishes included flooring, ceilings, millwork, side lites and doors, glass entry system, and paint. Furniture requirements and installation was coordinated with the client’s furniture vendor. In addition to construction management, DCBA provided Unum with preconstruction budgeting for this fit out. Due to the building being occupied and operational, all fire protection, fire alarm, and work on the adjacent floors was completed after 8 pm.
