Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Building 26 Addition Feasibility Study
DCBA provided preconstruction services and a feasibility study for a potential addition to MIT’s Building 26. The feasibility study included a complete review of the existing conditions, logistics planning, and an outlined schedule as well as constructability support for the design team through the conceptual design phase. DCBA delivered the initial pricing and renderings for multiple design options. These options ranged from one-story additions with access to Building 26 to two-story additions that also connected to Building 16, a second nearby building. DCBA created a clear analysis of each of these possibilities that included any potential construction challenges, schedule implications, and logistical concerns and presented it to MIT to aid in their selection process.
