Genzyme | Sanofi, Clinical Trials Manufacturing & Clinical Fill Finish Facilities

  • Project Type:Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Renovation
  • Owner:Genzyme, Sanofi
  • Location:Framingham, Massachusetts
  • Architect/Engineer:CRB
  • Project Dates:January 2011 – July 2013

This preconstruction and construction project spanned three locations in two buildings on Genzyme’s Framingham campus. The Clinical Trial Manufacturing (CTM) space is designed to produce new drugs in a cGMP standardized facility, whereas the Clinical Fill Finish Facility (CF3) is intended to accommodate the final stages of drug production/release. The project scope largely consisted of gutting and reconstructing manufacturing spaces and collaborating with the owner groups and process engineer. Work was performed in and/or on media and buffer manufacturing spaces, a suite of Bioreactors, and cGMP clean utilities. DCBA finalized project controls; tracked progress; controlled scheduling; and supplied procurement support, cost tracking, cash flow forecasts, and client-vendor management. DCBA also provided equipment maintenance information and formal commissioning and validation for the project.
