DCBA provided Genzyme with program management, preconstruction, and construction services to build a 22,000 sq. ft. bus maintenance facility. Scope consisted of building six bus maintenance bays, one bus wash bay, a two-story maintenance support area, and a two-story office support area. The pre-engineered steel structure sits on concrete spread footing and wall foundations. The concrete package includes a first floor slab on grade and a second floor slab on deck. The exterior façade is a combination of split face masonry, metal panel, aluminum framed ribbon windows, and aluminum insulated panels system. Development of the 5.5-acre site included adding a storm water detention pond, storm water filtration system, 225,000 sq. ft. of asphalt, 450 lft. of retaining wall, electrical and tel/data ductbanks, domestic water piping, and a sewage ejector pump station with associated piping. During the preconstruction process, DCBA worked with First Student, Genzyme, and our subcontractor network to provide value engineering proposals to make the budget as efficient as possible.
