DCBA was founded in 2007 with a focus on three core values: experience, service, and reliability. Our firm delivers quality preconstruction consulting, construction, and post-construction services. Though categorized as a mid-size firm, we possess large project experience as well as the dexterity and service capabilities of a smaller firm. Our clients know that they can pick up the phone at any time to speak with an owner. Our personal attention to clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors results in successful projects, quality construction, and lasting relationships. Our personnel have excellent technical skills and rich industry knowledge. They utilize creative thinking and the most up-to-date technology to keep projects on time and within budget.

DCBA believes that the integrity with which a project is completed matters just as much as its success. DCBA does not compromise when it comes to safety. Our employees and subcontractors must follow strict protocols and participate in frequent training. We are also pleased to incorporate environmentally conscious building practices (which contribute not only to the success of our industry but, more importantly, to the future health of the communities in which we all live and work) into our operations. David C. Beane

David C. Beane brings over 30 years of experience and a deep knowledge of all aspects of the commercial construction business to his position as DCBA’s General Manager. Over the course of David’s career, which has evolved primarily in New England, he has had responsibilities ranging from field engineering to being in charge of construction work that totals billions of dollars. David has developed excellent scheduling, constructability, and budgeting skills by delivering quality work under the strictest of schedule constraints without sacrificing sensitivity to the client. His knowledge of preconstruction and construction is far-reaching and ever-growing.

David’s vision for DCBA is driven not only by entrepreneurial spirit but also by the desire to build incredible projects as well as lasting client relationships. He places great value on the many professional connections he has formed with owners, developers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors over the course of his career.

David has worked with many clients and design teams throughout the New England Area, including Genzyme/Sanofi, Liberty Mutual, Novartis Institute of BioMedical Research, Partner’s Healthcare, Boston Properties, BioGen, Harvard University, Amgen, MIT, and many others. Several of these professional relationships have lasted decades.

Joe Gaiko Profile

Joseph Gaiko

Over the course of his career, Joseph Gaiko has earned a reputation not only for technical success and reliability but also for the integrity with which he conducts business. Joe brings over 25 years of commercial construction experience in the greater Boston Area to his position as DCBA’s Operations Manager. He is a highly effective professional who can implement complex design elements while leading a project team to critical schedule milestones.

As Operations Manager, Joe oversees all DCBA projects and supports field operations and engineering activities on a daily basis. He is committed to working with project teams to making sure clients’ expectations are being met and projects are on time and within budget.

Joe has been responsible for a wide variety of commercial construction projects, ranging from integrate and technically complex MEP infrastructure and laboratory renovations to 300,000 sq. ft. state-of-the art research and office buildings. Joe has worked on core/shell office buildings, biopharmaceutical laboratories, tenant fit-outs, and healthcare construction, to name a few. He is an LEED accredited professional with experience in managing projects to meet the strict guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Ralph Whiteman

Ralph Whiteman has over 40 years of commercial construction experience in the greater Boston Area. Ralph leads DCBA’s Preconstruction Department and is known for his integrity, wealth of knowledge, and commitment to each project. The longevity of his relationships with clients and subcontractors exemplify Ralph’s dedication.

He has worked on a wide variety of projects including hospitals, medical buildings, schools, high-rise residential housing, luxury hotels, commercial office spaces, parking garages, power plants, and numerous deep-hole excavations throughout the Cities of Boston and Cambridge. Over the course of his career, Ralph has been a general superintendent, senior superintendent, executive vice president field operations, project director, and construction consultant.

Notable projects that Ralph has been involved with over the years are the Boston Convention Center Hotel (790 rooms and 82,000 sf. ft. of function space), the Liberty Hotel (a historic renovation with 305 guest rooms), the Trilogy residential tower (576 rooms and 651,000 sq. ft.),100 Cambridge Street (599,700 sq. ft. of residential/office space), and 131 Dartmouth Street (675,000 sq. ft. of office/ retail space).
